Pat lives with her husband, Harrison, in a small city in southern Alberta. Her constant companion is her beloved Cooper, a three year old rambunctious black Labrador "puppy". They spend a lot of time together in the coulees nearby. Cooper is addicted to the orange ball with the blue stripe that he chases relentlessly up and down the hill. Pat, meanwhile, meanders along thinking that life doesn't get much better than this.

    Another much loved hobby is reading. Her favourite author is Melody Beattie. Others include Eckhart Tolle, Lee Carroll, Louise L. Hay, Bill Wilson, Ram Dass, and Harville Hendrix to name just a few.

    Her proudest accomplishment is giving birth to her three beautiful daughters, Christine, Jennifer and Angela.

    She would never have completed "The Child Was Me' without the support and love of family, and her friends in recovery. It is her prayer that those who relate to her book will know that they are not alone and there is a way out.
